Okay Now I am not happy. there is a link that Gac or Cmt classic country show salutes George Jones. Okay fine I get it. He is a artist today making albums and touring. how about promoting what he has done today or just recently, promote his new albums too not just past achivements it s got too be getting old too see your name always labled. What about today the here and now. they talk of George Like he is all washed up he is far from that, way far from that. It's great to honor George but let's start doing it for his todays work Huh.

Amen to that. There are many of the "Legends" that are still making great albums and touring to sellout crowds !! Merle, George, Ray Price, Gene Watson just to name a few. I still get a thrill when I can go buy a new album by these guys. Not to get on a soapbox, but I can't understand why Country Music as an industry shuns its older acts. Look at rock music, they herald them as icons. What's up with that. I certainly like alot of the new artists today, but as before there should be room for everyone. Back when George and Merle came along, everyone still loved Hank and Lefty right ?? Still do. So why does radio seem to forget that ? It saddens me. Very strong subject for me, sorry for ranting smile.gif

I'm going to quote George here. "And if I could have one last request. It would be that radio pay us older singers more attention. We ain't dead yet". I agree with you all on this

I agree with you all biggrin.gif Hopefully this new album is going to be promoted very heavily thru Cracker Barrel.. Maybe it will start the ball rolling.. but you are right about the older Rock singers. There is a big difference between the way the music industry views the country singers and the rock singers..
