For instance I was sitting first row but they had are seats like on a hill and it felt like I was falling backwards when I sat down. It was like they crammed as much as they could into a little place as possible. Also, the atmosphere for this concert was the worst one I think I've seen for a Hank show. Me I wanted to party and dance and go crazy for Hank, but really no one was standing and it kind of took some of the fun out of the show I must admit. Usually when I go to a Hank show I'm up jumping and screaming and pretty much embarassing myself in public for one night with my crazy white boy dancing lol.
Also, the security for this show I hated it. There were 3 guys like in my section just making sure no one did anything and I 100% understand you have to protect the artist but these guys were just pr*cks sorry for the language. They really seemed to be rude to the fans and didn't really like anyone having a good time. I mean I understand you have to keep things in control, but these guys were just bad. When George started singing Rockin' Chair which I know it's his last song I stood up after sitting for most of the show. I got up out of my seat which was on a hill and got my feet to a flat piece of ground and my dad yelled at me real quick because security jumped up as soon as I stood up. I think they thought I was going to rush the stage or something, but all I was trying to do was get my 2 feet and clap to George for his final song of the night. Then when Hank Jr. started playing "Family Tradition" instead of taking a chance of running up to the stage real quick and throw Hank up a Terrible Towel that I was using the whole show and taking the chance of getting speared and cuffed by a police officer. I was like well I'll do the right thing here so I calmly walked up to an officer and gave him my Terrible Towel and said could you throw this up to Hank, for a minute I thought he was actually going to do it he held it while sitting on his sorry butt for a minute then he looked at me shook his head and handed me the towel back. I mean the concert was Awesome as far as the show but the venue and atmosphere I must say wasn't the greatest.
Now for the show now that I got a little of my complaining out lol. The show was great. George Jones and Hank Williams Jr. it just doesn't get any better then that.
This was my sixth time seeing George and I Love George and respect George more then anything, but I am sorry to say this is probably the worst I've seen George as far as his voice is concerned. I mean I still loved it and loved the show, but I think this may of been George towards the end of the tour instead of closer to the beginning of one. His voice sounded like he was hoarse and it seemed he was struggling through his set. Like I said this was my sixth time seeing George and the second time this year and when I seen him in April of this year he was Amazing I mean his voice was Wonderful and I was shocked he was as good as he was at his age when I seen him in April. He was simply unbelievable in April, but when I seen him last night I could tell he was struggling and I cheered The Possum along. I mean some songs he sounded pretty good on, but then there were others where his voice kind of gave out at times. I think he may of had a cold or something. I really do give George credit for going on and performing and doing the best he could. I mean for a 77 year old man he still gets up there and puts on a great show.
This was also, a shorter show for George Jones then one's I've seen in the past. He probably played about 45 minutes. He played "Why Baby Why" "Once You've Had The Best", "Choices", "50,000 Names" "I Always Get Lucky With You", "The Corvette Song", "He Stopped Loving Her Today", "Rockin Chair", and a few new ones from his new album he was talking about with Cracker Barrel. Overall George put on a good show. And like I've said this is my sixth time seeing him in the last 7 years. And even though it wasn't George's best it was better then most of the acts out there on there best day so I was very pleased with George's Show.
Now for Bocephus's part of the show. All I can say once again is WOW!!! This is my tenth time seeing Hank and I am once again blown away! Hank Williams Jr. proves once again to me he is simply THE BEST THERE IS!!! I mean there are a lot of acts in Country and Rock and all other sorts of music but Hank is simply the Best there is and that's all I can say about this man. His many talents on Electric Guitar, Fiddle, Piano, and Acoustic Guitar just blows me away every time I see him. The way he mixes his Country with Rock and a Blues mixture is just a sound I don't know if we will every truly see again. This man is just simply amazing and is well deserving of his 5 Entertainer of the Year Awards because I tell you what Bocephus Entertains you and Rocks the House every single times he plays.
Hank Williams Jr. showed up in Canfield in a great mood. He came out with a Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey and he knew where he was at. Also, Michelle Poe his Bass player had a Roetlisberger Jersey on as well and Michelle indeed looked good
Some of what Bocephus played was "My Name Is Bocephus", "Workin' For MCA", "If Heaven Aint Alot Like Dixie", "The Conversation", "That's How They Do It In Dixie", "Blues Man", "All My Rowdy Friends Are Comin' Over Tonight", "Kaw-Liga" all on electric guitar. Then he went to the piano and played "Your Cheatin Heart" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On". Then his acoustic guitar set went something like "Dinosaur", "Tear in my Beer" "All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down into "Good Ole Boys" into "Walk The Line" then back to "All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down", "Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound", "Country State Of Mind", and "A Country Boy Can Survive" then back to the electric guitar for "Born To Boogie", "I Really Like Girls", Guitar Licks of Ted Nugent, Skynyrd, and a few others and then ended with "Family Tradition" Hank really rocked the show and I was very pleased with what I saw. Hank was in rare form and played for about an Hour and 25 minutes I would say. Hank really sounded great and I was blown away once again by the Man Of Steel.
Also, I have to add Hank Jr. was quite comical with his views on Mr. President Obama. I was cracking up quite a few times. Bocephus said Obama was on his $h*tlist and made other views of Obama's Socialist and Communist views lol.
I Have Videos Of This Concert That I Just Put On PLEASE READ POSTING POLICY And I'm not sure how to post pictures on here, but if I figure it out or if someone else wants to post them for send me a message.
