From Tennessean features writer Vivi Hoang:
Did you read the “Take me home!” feature Friday in The Tennessean’s Living section about Hamilton, the yellow Lab at Metro Animal Control with an impending death sentence?
Nancy Jones, wife of country music legend George Jones, did. She adopted the 2-year-old canine.
Susan Nadler, executive vice president of George’s new label, Bandit Records, says the couple, both animal lovers, used to have several yellow Labrador retrievers among their menagerie. At least one of them had to be put down, though, leaving one of the remaining Labs sad and lonely.
Hamilton has proven a perfect addition to the family.
He’s one of three pets (out of a total of four) spotlighted in “Take me home!” that have been saved from an untimely death.
“He’s in for a life of royalty,” Nadler says.
