John Anderson, Clint Black, Tracy Lawrence, Lorrie Morgan, Aaron Tippin and Darryl Worley are also part of the Country Crossing family with more country acts and celebrities jumping on board.
Also scheduled to be built in 2009 and 2010 are the George Jones’ Possum Holler Dinner Theatre, the Tracy Lawrence BBQ, Lorrie Morgan Cafe’, Worley Bird Café (Darryl Worley), John Anderson Buffet, an RV park, outdoor amphitheater, a fair grounds and bingo pavilion.
In announcing the Jones Jam, Gilley said, “We promised Alabamians we would create an entertainment destination full of stars and special events. We are already well on our way to a huge success with our second BamaJam Music & Arts Festival [scheduled in June starring Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and many more, and sponsored by Verizon Wireless], and…this is just the beginning of great things to come. Annual events like BamaJam and the Jones Jam will validate and cement Alabama’s place on the map as a premiere entertainment destination. Country Crossing is poised to become a world-known entertainment attraction inviting music-lovers and tourists to come on by and visit for a while.”
Last year’s BamaJam Music and Arts Festival attracted more than 200,000 concertgoers; Country Crossing is predicted to generate $2.2 million in tax revenues and create a total of 1,228 jobs.
Country music superstar, George Jones, is the national spokesman for Ronnie Gilley Properties/Ronnie Gilley Entertainment. Considered “the greatest country singer of all time,” Jones said, “I really admire what Ronnie is doing in Alabama - so much so that I now have a second home in the area. We’re going to have a big time at the Jones Jam. The talent line-up is great - a little something for everyone. The gals can scream for Clint, the American patriots can salute Lee, and Aaron and I are going to sing all day. Plus, we’re going to have some special surprise guests. You’ll just have to come out to see for yourself…and best of all, it’s free!”
