This year marks the 40th anniversary of Cracker Barrel stores and what better of a way to celebrate than with the good ole’ Possum himself!!

The iconic Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry member effortlessly released this promising collection of beloved tunes from his storied career PLUS two new unreleased tracks “I Don’t Want To Know,” and “I’m A Long Gone Daddy,” that are sure to please your senses. (FYI: Both tracks were produced by music wiz Buddy Cannon well-known for working with music superstar Kenny Chesney.)

Follow up:

Known for his distinctive vocals and intriguing persona, George Jones is one of the most important facets of the music business. He has been entertaining to the masses since his debut in the mid 1950’s until present day in which he still manages to record and tour quite heavily much to the delight of sold-out audiences.

Some of the fan favorites on “A Collection of My Best Recollection” are “Why Baby Why,” “White Lightning” (George’s first #1),” “The Race Is On,” “Finally Friday,” and one of the greatest country tunes of all time “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

The unreleased tune “I Don’t Want To Know” hits home with its piercing message about a relationship gone awry due to the mere thought of fearing infidelity and lustful desires from a mans perspective while the other release, “I’m A Long Gone Daddy” originally recorded by country great Hank Williams, puts a twist on the idea of a typical quarrel between a man and a woman that usually ends in the woman leavin’ but on this track it’s the man that claims his departure!!

If you’re looking for an album that is honest in the sense of its melodic structure, then you will immensely enjoy this affordably priced treasure. It is available exclusively through Cracker Barrel stores and their official website.

(We’d like to sincerely thank Webster & Associates for the opportunity to review this fabulous album. We look forward to providing our readers with the George Jones concert review coming in November!)
