GEORGE JONES RELEASES 'GREAT LOST HITS'

George Jones has been making music and thrilling fans for more than six decades … and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. The legendary singer recently released ‘A Collection of My Best Recollection,’ featuring three previously unreleased tunes, exclusively through Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores.

On Tuesday (Feb. 23), the Possum is once again giving fans a treat with the release of a two-CD collection from Time Life, titled ‘George Jones: The Great Lost Hits.’ This latest addition to George’s illustrious discography is comprised of 34 tracks compiled from rare and largely out-of-print recordings between 1965 and 1972.

The new collection of songs includes classics such as ‘A Good Year for the Roses,’ ‘Walk Through This World with Me,’ ‘I’ll Share My World with You,’ ‘Love Bug’ and ‘When the Grass Grows over Me,’ as well as the original version of ‘Beneath Still Waters,’ which later became a No. 1 hit for Emmylou Harris, and ‘Your Angel Steps out of Heaven’ later recorded by Elvis Costello and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Fans can also hear Tammy Wynette anonymously singing harmony on ‘Never Grow Cold’ soon after their relationship began.

A special 12-track, single-CD version of the collection will be also be available digitally beginning Feb. 23.
