George Jones kicked off the CMA Music Festival Possum style on Thursday at the Nashville Palace. Guests were welcomed to the legendary club with lots of southern BBQ pork, chicken and hamburgers, lots of sweet tea and drinks only George could sing about! Nancy welcomed the crowd with the special introduction of her brother Bobby. Bobby took a moment to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers as his tumor has gone from the size of a baseball to the size of a golf ball, and now can be operated and removed! As The Jones Boys took the stage and welcomed the fans with a few opening numbers as the Possum watched from backstage ready to great the fans. George came out with lots of warm wishes and so thankful to have everyone out.
Follow up:Singing many of his hits, George had few surprises for this fans. He welcomed to the stage a few legends and soon to be legends including, Jack Green, Jim Ed Brown, 7 year old Ned and rising star Eric Lee Beddingfield who debuted his new video “Gospel According to Jones” (for which Jones makes a cameo appearance in). Even with the heat that always comes with the CMA Festival, Jones was by far the coolest party to be at this year!
