Con Hunley shows his heartfelt appreciation to George Jones
when the Possum recently invited him on stage at the Country Tonite Theatre in Knoxville, where they sang “She Thinks I Still Care".
The CMT Cross Country Taping with George Jones and Merle Haggard originally scheduled for Wednesday night at The Factory in Franklin has been postponed. CMT attributed the cancellation to “unforeseen circumstances,” which forced Haggard to return home to the west coast earlier than planned. Jones’ publicist, Susan Nadler of Bandit Records remarked that Jones regrets having to reschedule saying, “George is really anxious to do it. And the sessions turned out great.” more!
A new duets album from Jerry Lee Lewis will be out Sept. 26. Last Man Standing was five years in the making and includes duets with country icons like George Jones, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson. He is also joined by newer stars Toby Keith and Kid Rock, as well as classic rockers like Jimmy Page, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Keith Richards, Ringo Starr and Rod Stewart. more!
For the first time in 25 years, since the album Yesterday’s Wine, country stars Merle Haggard and George Jones are recording an album together, entitled Kicking Out The Footlights on Bandit Records. Haggard will record five of Jones’ songs and Jones will record five of Haggard’s songs, and they’ll do four duets.
